The sniper rifle of Lukina Aleksasha Bloodtree. The rifle is commonly seen with an elongated sniper barrel and an under-barrel grenade launcher attached but there is a shorter barrel for more middle range functionality. It is believed to be an old fashioned kinetic, bolt action rifle with a classic scope fixed on it.This style of rifle was common among the men of the Wyvern Group before it became the Uial Lug Free Company.
The rifle is covered in scratches and dings, with a particular pock mark in the stock by the trigger guard from another sniper's bullet, a souvenir from the Battle of 100 at Kirikuu Ranch.
| Bhelith picked it from her hands and stood, examining the weapon, one side and then the other. She found the receiver, the bolt, checked the magazine and then, sighting down at a particularly well-lit mote of some sort of forest fluff, the seed of some plant carried upon the wind, she fingered the trigger. It felt good against her shoulder. She didn't fire it, though she could have with some accuracy. Instead she watched the mote up close. It was like a dandelion's seed. The magnification on the scope made every little twitch of her hand into a jerk of the eye. Bhelith unshouldered the rifle and found its center of balance, putting her hands at either end. Guns and energy weapons had never quite been her preference, but she had learned them all - at least in type and style. Swords could be of all different lengths and edges; spears, halberds, bardache, and so on, all had their specialties. Of guns, it could be said that they had their quirks, and this was clearly Lukina's weapon. |

History
Lukina acquired this rifle from her grandfather on Liang (Tai Pan) when she began her combat training at 5 years old. She hand some difficulty handling the rifle due to her size at the time but through practice, became accustomed to holding it, carrying it and eventually, using it. It was just an old beat-up rifle but she was taught to treasure the weapon and maintain it, for on the battlefield, your only companion might be your rifle.
For a time, the rifle was the only consistent in her life. When Aleksasha returned to Laing to claim her daughter to begin work as a mercenary at 13 the rifle was considered a main part of Lukina's kit. Battle to battle, Lukina had her rifle at her side and rarely was it ever seen parted from her. It is uncommon for her to use other rifles and Lukina will go out of her way to modify her rifle to increase it's versatility rather than replace it.
It was not until late 3018 GSC, that Aleksasha informed Lukina that the rifle once belonged to her deceased father, Makarios Petrora and is a Petrora family heirloom. Aleksasha did not identify if the rifle saw use during the wars of insurrection or if Makarios was using the rifle on the day that he was murdered, only that it was left for Lukina to use when she was old enough.
