Kǒnglóng
The Kǒnglóng are the remnants of the dinosaurs of the old earth. As time moved on they evolved aboard the world ships. Through isolated evolution and genetic manipulation the various dinosaurs interbred and intermingled to become one species with six distinct racial groups.
All Races
While each race have their own characteristics, they all share the same internal organs, and over all general body shapes. They are a up right walking humanoid, created form the original gene stocks of dinosaurs that were rescued from earth then changed genetically over time by the Ancients.
Baby Kǒnglóng and their Genetics
All of the six Kǒnglóng races are biologically viable with one another to crossbreed despite their vastly different appearances. Biologically, all six of the races have the same internal biology- they all have the same organs in all the same general locations. With mixed Kǒnglóng pairings, the determination of the child's appearance is determined by who's dominate genes kicked in during the fetus's development inside the egg. This means that if a Mommy Xùnměng lóng (A Raptor) and a Daddy Yāzuǐ lóng (A Hadrosaurus) had a baby together the child (or really the clutch since they lay eggs in threes) could look like the Mother or the Father when it hatches. Within a clutch, each egg has an equal and separate chance to be either gender or race.
The Six Great Races
Xùnměng lóng
The race that came from the Old Earth race of the Utah Raptors. Fiercely loyal to their friends and family, and in cases of those in the military or merchant shipping, their command and crew. They are hot headed and one would think at first seemingly rash in their actions, most have thought out these rash actions five to ten moves before hand. They excel in piloting with their ability to view their surroundings and make quick calculations without need of any computing devices. As for their uses in the military besides as combat pilots, they work as special operations units that infiltrate enemy lines and wreck havoc.
The Xùnměng lóng stand just a few inches shorter then their larger brethren, at a range of between 5' to 6'. Thin and lean causing their bodies look wiry. Though they look weak they are powerful for their size allowing them to move quickly and for most of their prey, not that they hunt much any more they can still over power them.
Most are covered in feathers though there are a few family lines that don't. They cover behind their heads and along the back, also along their arms there are longer feathers that would if their progenitors had the chance to evolve that direction lead them to flight.
On the feet are their most iconic feature their talons. Large hook shaped claws that reach upwards of 6“ each. One per foot they are found at the ends of their first toe, the musculature for those toes are different then the rest of the toes, allowing the claw to almost be prehensile. It has repeatedly come into fashion to have these talons painted in hardening metal paints to increase both their hardness and sharpness, and to draw attention to their meat hooks.
Bào lóng
The Race that seems to be in charge most of the time, at least to the outsiders came from the stock of the Tyrannosaurus Rex. These large menacing people show their heritage though the large heads that ride on their overly muscular frames. No longer slaves to the need of grabbie arms to reach the top shelf they have develops large biceps outside of their chests that not only allow them to make jokes about their guns, (The whole group of Bào make these jokes, male, female, and child alike.) but also allows them to interact with the world around them far easier then ever before.
Most stand between 6' to some exceptionally tall brutes at 7'. They are built like a waste disposal bulkhead, and that is putting it mildly. Though one would expect that with such massive size they wouldn't be all that bright but they are some of the best leaders of the whole race, considering all plans and processing through them with an almost computer like grace. Not as fast as the Xùnměng lóng with tactics but when strategy is needed they are the ones you want to count on. They see the big picture, can comprehend it, process it, and com out with a great plan of action faster then most other races can. Some believe this has come from their ancestors hunting larger game, but really it came for trying to get those pesky cookies off the top shelves.
Shuāng jí lóng
The double crested Lóngs come from the background of the Dilophosaurus. These smaller of people standing around 4' to 5', find their niche through the inquisitive nature that compels them to conduct research and investigations. These skills and compulsions make them perfect for roles in science and law enforcement. Though they are amazing in their fields they have a very interesting drawback. when they become excited, and that is when they discover something new or a clue… Their frills flip open and start to shake causing a rattling sound. Now in itself this isn't an issue but they race have a need to transmit this excitement through all of the surrounding Shuāng around them, which leads to a whole lab or a crime scene to become a loud confused buzzing mess of excited Shuāng, most of who have no idea why they are being triggered. While they are in such an excited state their main body locks up (A lot like the Fainting goats) leaving their heads and mouths the only parts able to move. They are still able to talk though in this state.
